Content
What content is in the system?
VIC has over 30 Academies
covering a wide range of world-class content including Leadership, Sales,
Emotional Intelligence, Time and productivity and Strategy and Business Growth
amongst many others.
There are powerful
self-coaching tools including Personality Profiler, 360 Feedback, Values
Finder, Belief Builder, Stress Assessor and Goal Setter.
And tools to help with
communication, SHARE!, managing performance, Performance Review, and
recruitment, Expert Interviewer.
How is the content organized? Each
Academy has 10-15 Programmes with 20-30 hours of content! Each Programme is
divided into 16 bite-sized, multi-media Steps of around 3-7 minutes.
How can I find what I am looking for?
There
are many ways to find either specific content or search for a topic…
1
Write, or speak, your
query in the Ask My Coach page
2
Use search at the top
of each page
3
Explore Academies,
Programmes and Steps
4
Use the WOW! button to bring the best matched content to your
priorities straight to you!
5
Explore your skills
gaps via “My Future” on the top navigation bar
3 Features
What is 1-Clickology?
1-Clickology makes your life
easy in 3 different ways…
1 Whenever you see any
blue word or phrase within a step, simply click it and be taken straight to
another step that explains that topic in more detail - in just 1-Click!
2 Whenever you receive
feedback from other people via VIC tools such as
Personality Type, Team Type, Introversion/Extroversion, 360,
Performance Review, Questionnaires or other tools, key words will be
automatically linked direct to the most recommended steps for that word to help
you address the skills gaps and areas for improvement – in just 1-Click!
3 SHARE! and other VIC
tools have default settings to give you the option of triggering a very complex
set of actions – all in just 1-Click.
How does “Ask My Coach Work”?
Click the microphone symbol and
speak your query as a whole sentence or just type it in. You get an instant response for your whole query plus other
specialist recommendations. Currently Voice Recognition only works with the
Google Chrome browser.
What is “WOW!”?
If you are ever
unsure what help you do want, clicking the WOW! button brings you the best
personalised matched content to your chosen priorities (on your My Profile page). Also, each Monday you will receive a WOW! VICmail with a link to
content matching your priorities – without you ever having to ask!
How does “Embed my learning” work?
If a step contains important information
you want to remember for future instant mental recall, simply click this
button. The system will then send you a VicMail with a link direct to this step
after 1 day, 1 week and 1 month. By reviewing this material on each occasion,
it will reinforce the learning and embed it into your permanent memory. Studies
show that your recall will be improved by between 300% and 800%! This is called the
“Ebbinghaus
Effect”.
What is “CPD”?
CPD
stands for “Continuing Professional Development” and is a record of the time
you have invested to gain new skills and knowledge. The CPD process helps you
track and manage your own development and you can use the printable
e-certificate to prove your CPD with Professional Associations.
The “CPD Count” for any step is the average
time taken to view and understand that step.
How can I claim CPD?
You claim CPD by clicking the “Add to My
CPD” button at the bottom of every step.
Once this button has been clicked, it then
changes to “View my CPD” and by clicking that you are then taken to your CPD Learning Record.
It is very important that you do click
“Add to My CPD” after viewing a step because it tells the system you have completed
it and it will then exclude it from “Wow!”, “Vic’s Daily Proactive Programme”
and other features meaning Vic will only offer you fresh content and not
content you have already seen.
Many steps appear in more than one
programme. By adding the CPD once you benefit from that PD being
counted for all programmes in which that content appears. This means
that you can complete more programmes (and be entitled to take more exams)
sooner.
How do I print off my VIC CPD
certificates?
To print off CPD certificates go to My
Extras, My Programmes Progress and Exam Success, View my CPD records, Generate
my CPD certificate and click the ‘Print” button at the bottom of the page.
How can I “SHARE!” a step?
By clicking this
button, you can SHARE! this step with a
group of recipients in just 1-Click.
How does “My Discovery Plan” work?
If you haven’t time to read
this step now yet would like to be reminded later, click this button to add
this step to your “Discovery Plan” and
set a date. The default date is in 14 days. Vic will then send reminders as you
approach the date.
How does “FREE bonus Family
Membership “work?
As a valued member of Vic - your Virtual Interactive Coach, you
are entitled to a free bonus Membership to be used by your family.
This
Family Membership gives your family access to the same benefits and features at
weekends (between 01:00 on Friday morning and 23.00 on Monday evening) that
you enjoy 7 days a week. So they can all benefit from whatever skills, insights
and knowledge will help them.
To activate this bonus Family Membership simply
go to My Extras, My Area, My
Family Membership
What is “My Mastery”?
You
can become a "Master" expert on any of over 30 important
topics. Doing so wins you the prestigious "Gold Mastery" icon for
that topic.
To
win this icon you need to pass the exams for all Mastery programmes specified
for that topic. The first exam you pass earns you a "1st Dan" icon for that topic. The second
earns you a "2nd Dan" icon and so on.
When you pass the final exam, you earn the Mastery
certificate and Gold Mastery icon.
What is “My Future”?
My Future is all
about you and your future success. You can identify skills gaps, explore them
in more detail and click straight through to content to close each gap.
What is “My Programmes
Progress and Exam Success”?
This lists all of the programmes inside VIC and shows how much of
each programme you have already reviewed and "Added to your CPD”.
Once you have “Added CPD” for every step in a programme, you are
invited to take the online multiple-choice exam for that programme. Passing
this exam (either a pass or a distinction) means that you are awarded a
printable certificate. The metallic Programme Icon shown on each certificate
changes as you pass more exams.
What are “Mentorz”?
Mentorz
are life stories of very successful people. Some are alive today - such
as Richard Branson.
Some are from history and are dead - such as Nelson Mandela. Some never even lived – such as Sherlock Holmes. Mentorz can be used to provide support or advice when you have no
one to ask. Simply pick a Mentorz, pretend that they are with you, ask them
questions and see what surprising help they offer! You might be looking for
help being courageous (try Alexander
the Great) or with tenacity (try Winston Churchill). You have access to a great
team of Mentorz just waiting to help you!
